Twilio SMS Segements

When sending and receiving SMS messages the cost of the SMS message depends on the segment value of the message. Message segments are how Twilio (and the SMS industry as a whole) counts messages. A standard segment has 160 characters, but this can change depending on the characters you use e.g. if you use Emojis. 

The best way to calculate the number of segments your SMS message contains is to copy the message into this: SMS Segment calculator.
